MANITOBA, Canada, June 4, 2008 - Tourism Week in Manitoba will wrap up with a celebration of Manitoba's great outdoors, cultural diversity, and home grown entertainment as Travel Manitoba hosts two days of fun and family entertainment.
June 7 and 8, from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm, the Explore Manitoba Centre at the Forks will showcase the attractions of the province's regions, including Riding Mountain National Park, a wilderness highland of Canadian boreal forests, lakes and grasslands. For those unafraid of things that slither and crawl, Brandon's Westman Reptile Gardens will introduce visitors to a nine foot albino python and a Mexican red knee tarantula.

WINNIPEG, Manitoba, Canada, October 30, 2007 - Marketing the province as an "unforgettable" tourism destination, enhancing its website and increasing the focus on international markets were among the strategies used by Travel Manitoba, the province's tourism agency, to help boost tourism expenditures by 5.1 per cent last year.
WINNIPEG, Manitoba, Canada, September 5, 2007 - Manitoba's tourism industry is reporting strong performance as the summer season draws to a close. The province's hotels and accommodations sector is continuing its upward trend, with the number of room nights sold year-to-date increasing by 5.6 per cent over the same period in 2006. Winnipeg occupancy rates rose by 6.1 per cent, year-to-date, compared to 2006, and Brandon saw increases of 3.3 per cent year-to-date compared to 2006, as of June 30. "Manitoba's capacity for overnight guests has also grown substantially over the past five years," said Hubert Mesman, President and CEO of Travel Manitoba. "This increase in supply shows that demand is also growing and investors have great confidence in the future of the provincial tourism industry." The James A. Richardson International Airport is also busier compared to last year, welcoming 7.9 per cent more scheduled travellers year-to-date, as of June 30.
